Chapter 2

"Up the Berg"

As you have seen not long ago Sir Roderick K. Foster - a profound scientit and explorer was on an expedition to the Alps in the search of the Grüne Kuh - an endangered dragon living high in the mountains. He was accompanied by Hieronimus Fell - a very clever basset hound.
According to the estimations of Sir Foster, Grüne Kuh was hiding up the Berg (a very high mountain indeed). But as Sir Foster reached the top of the Berg he did not find the dragon there. What he found was a problem.

The problem is known all around Europe and in the East as Doctor Val Latro - talented academician, adventurer, successful author of a number of publications in the Austrian Academy of Science and the whale protection activist. Doctor Latro came from Norway especialy to find the endangered Grüne Kuh and met Sir Foster right on top of the Berg.
It was at this moment that Sir Foster realized that a man he wanted to meet for a long time - is actually a woman!
Doctor Val Latro (her real name being Valeriana, but she uses the shorten version in her works) is wearing a male costume because she travels alone and finds it more secure and comfortable. You may well say she is a feminist and a liberal at 1898...
And thats the problem... For Sir Roderick is a conservative gentleman of Victorian era and this red haired active girl with her progressive thinking is about to become a real pain in the ... khem... trouble.

But enough for now...
